General overview
The PTU-D48 E-Series (PTU-D48E) is a two-model series of compact pan-tilt units that provide accurate real-time positioning of cameras, lasers, antenna, or other payloads up to 6.8 kg.

The PTU-D48E model family are fully weatherized, offer integrated controller and internal wiring with slip-ring for payload signals, and are designed for harsh environments in fixed and mobile applications. The PTU-D48E models offer integrated Ethernet, high-resolution digital encoders, programmable ranges of motion and more. The light weight of the unit (<5.5 kg.) makes them ideal for pole-mount or mobile applications. Payloads can be mounted on the side and/or top (multiple bracket configurations available). The body of the pan-tilt is machined aluminum and provides very rigid, repeatable positioning

The built-in command set offers both ASCII and binary formats. This command set supports real-time control at very high command rates with very low and predictable latencies. The rich command set provides fine-grained control of position (absolute and relative), velocity, acceleration and other unit functions. The optional Geo-Pointing Module provides a geo-pointing functionality for the units

PTU-D48E (standard model) overview
The PTU-D48E Series miniature, computer-controlled pan-tilt is compact and light weight, extremely rugged, fast, and precise. It features the E-Series electronics providing integrated Ethernet, improved command rates, programmable ranges of motion. A single mil-style connector provides power and pan-tilt control, as well as pass through of payload signals via the integrated slip-ring.

The built-in command set offers both ASCII and binary formats. This command set supports real-time control at very high command rates with very low and predictable latencies. The rich command set provides fine-grained control of position (absolute and relative), velocity, acceleration and other unit functions. The optional Geo-Pointing Module also provides an Ethernet/IP interface for control of the pan-tilt units.

PTU-D48E-ISM model overview
The PTU-D48E-ISM integrates a powerful, low-cost MEMs gyro to provide active inertial stabilization of any type of payload. Stabilization improves images while on the move and allows communications links to be maintained from air, ground, or sea platforms.

The PTU-D148E-ISM provides stabilized pointing for virtually any type of payload. The integrated MEMs sensor is used by the ISM processing module to measure platform motion in real-time, and to dynamically control the pan-tilt to compensate for unwanted motion. Its light weight make it suitable for airborne as well as fixed or ground mobile/portable applications. The real-time control interface allows applications to dynamically control the PTU-D48E-ISM while stabilized, to support applications such as slew-to-queue, video tracking, antenna tracking, and more.
