The CR600x2 is a high
speed camera for capturing high-speed events in order to slow down playback
and for image and motion analysis.
Typical applications include:
Operating at a resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels and with
a frame rate of 500 fps, the camera's large memory
allows for impressively lengthy recording times. The
CR450x2 also offers area of interest mode which allows the camera to output
a lower resolution at higher frame rates. In combination with the pre-
and post trigger (ring memory), unexpected events are captured easily.
The camera also uses an external hardware trigger for synchronisation
and an internal software trigger that detects motion.
Using internal memory to store high speed image sequences
at very high frame rates, the camera features a fast Gigabit ethernet
connection to transfer the already-captured sequences to computer. Being
highly-sensitive allows it to shutter at high speeds and so avoid complex
and expensive illumination systems, in some cases.
The gigabit ethernet connection also provides the means
to control the camera when setting up and also viewing a live image on
a screen for image composition before recording.
Camera management is by way of the packaged, free CamControl software,
running on Windows. Optronis also provide a driver for Labview.
