Made possible by Vision Research's improved sensor designs,
a significant reduction in readout noise and the addition of microlens
technology, the Phantom v341 digital high-speed video camera is ideal
for applications where high sensitivity and high resolution are
needed.
The 4-megapixel 35mm format sensor and almost-3-gigapixels/second throughput,
provide full-resolution frame rates of 800 frames-per-second at speeds
that normally only possible with larger pixel, lower-resolution cameras.
The wide view custom-designed 2560 x 1600 pixel CMOS sensor permits an
aspect ratio which allows moving targets to be kept in-frame longer and
so show more of the event being recorded. Shutter speeds down to 1 microsecond
and a global electronic shutter allow for crisp, sharp images with little
or no image blur or motion artifacts.
The camera supports 8- and 12-bit pixel depth; the smaller bit-depth
allowing more recording time and smaller files while the greater bit-depth
allows for more/finer detail to be extracted from the image.
This "range ready" camera has dual power inputs to protect data
in case of power failure (via battery backup), timecode in/out (IRIG or
SMPTE), Range Data input, and is manufactured with a new reflective colour
for better temperature stability when used outdoors. Convenience features
such as the Internal Mechanical Shutter, Image-Based Auto-Trigger, optional
On-Camera Controls, a
CineMag interface, ensures the ideal camera for range applications.
Its small size and light weight also makes it ideal for tracking mount
applications.
Recording directly into the Phantom
CineMag non-volatile, hot-swappable memory magazines which mount on
the CineMag compatible version of the camera providing not only greater
shooting/storage flexibility but also time-saving efficiencies.
The Phantom v341 is available
in monochrome and colour and
is available in two base models, either with or without CineMag interface.
An optical low-pass filter is available as an option.
