High-speed
imaging is memory-hungry
At speeds up to 1.4 Gpx/sec the proprietary Phantom CineMag is the
fastest data transfer solution for compatible Phantom cameras. The
CineMag is hot-swappable, establishing a fast and secure streamlined
workflow to deal with the large files associated with high-speed imaging.
The Phantom CineMag also enables long record times for events that
would normally exhaust built-in memory.
Improving workflow
Acknowledging the memory needs of high-speed imaging, Vision Research
have developed the CineMag 5e, a reliable hot-swappable, non-volatile
memory solution for Phantom digital high-speed video cameras that
improves shooting-and-recording workflow. The CineMag is a storage
device incorporating secure, non-volatile flash memory for high speed
Phantom raw footage. Cines can be recorded into camera RAM and then
the recording uploaded to the CineMag in seconds. This eliminates
camera down time between shots. If the application demands longer
record times, then the CineMag can be used in Run/Stop (R/S) mode,
allowing for several minutes of record time at lower frame rates.
What happens when I
finish recording to the CineMag? ...
The companion to the CineMag
The CineMag/CineStation combination have been designed to work as
a tandem team both to improve workflow and to save valuable camera
time.
How do the CineMag and CineStation
work together?
The Phantom CineStation is the download station for the CineMag
and is used as an off-camera solution for viewing, editing and saving
cines previously stored on a CineMag. This frees up the camera so
that it can continue recording.
The CineMag is moved from the camera and installed on to the CineStation
from which each saved cine can be quickly reviewed.
The CineStation supports both raw digital and video workflows by
providing a fast-file download capability, as well as the ability
to play the cine files stored on the CineMag over dual HD-SDI video
outputs or component video. The optional 10Gb Ethernet version of
the CineStation accelerates workflow even more.
A CineStation works by connecting to a PC running the supplied PCC
software via Gb or 10Gb Ethernet, where the user can view each Cine
stored on the CineMag, set in- and out-points to trim the Cines,
and save the files to a connected hard disk drive. This process
can also be fully automated.
