Paul
Woods
With a degree in electronic systems and control engineering from the
UK Paul migrated to Australia mid-2006 to pursue an exciting and interesting
role in industry. His career path has encompassed over 12 years in industry.
He has been involved with building nuclear-electric plants in the UK and
most recently worked in the UK in a government research council as a particle
accelerator designer.
His roles in the nuclear industry allowed him to hone his skills in computer
control systems engineering which serve him well in his current role here
at Adept. Since arriving in Australia Paul has worked with Adept in the
design and development of an imaging system for the mining industry. His
role consists mainly of algorithm development and validation and when
not looking at rocks he spends his time in the office muttering incongruencies
:-)
Paul moved to Australia with his wife and 3 children and left the eldest
daughter who at an age to make her own decisions chose to follow her career
path in the home country. Paul is older than he looks. Being new to Australia
and to WA Paul and his wife Jacky pack the kids into the 4 wheel drive
and spend much of their spare time traveling around our beautiful city
and state. He also enjoys astronomy and we're told has a lethal hand at
tennis but this is yet to be proven.
Paul is a very valued colleague and we look forward to many years of
great ideas and implementations from him. One of Paul's favourite quotes
which we're sure helps him with his work at Adept is:
"When you have eliminated the obvious, whatever that's left, however
improbable, must be the answer" Sir Arthur Conan Doyle - quoted from
Sherlock Holme
