Adept Electronic Solutions takes pleasure in introducing DALSA Corporation's cutting-edge HS TDI camera, continuing DALSA's commitment to providing solutions for ever-demanding high-speed, low-light imaging.

What is TDI?
TDI (time-delay and integration) is a method of line scanning that provides dramatically increased responsivity compared to other video-scanning methods. It permits much greater scanning speeds in low light, or allows reduced lighting levels (and costs) at conventional speeds.

What are the benefits of using TDI technology?

1

More Speed: With more effective integration time, the speed of the target object or inspection web can be increased.

2 Less light, less expense: Instead of high-powered, high-cost, high-temperature halogen lighting with DC power, high-frequency AC or even LED lighting can be used, profoundly lowering system maintenance costs. TDI operation effectively averages out fluctuations in light intensity to represent a DC light source. This factor alone can justify the increased cost of a TDI sensor versus the cost of using DC-regulated light source and a line scan image sensor.

What is DALSA Corporation's HS TDI solution?
The latest inclusion in the Dalsa's generation of high sensitivity, TDI cameras are the Piranha HS-82-04k80 and the HS-82-04k40. With a maximum line rate of up to 110kHz and throughput up to 640 MHz, the Piranha HS-82=04K80/40 provides the highest speed available in a TDI camera.

Features of these cameras include:
1
Up to 110 kHz maximum line rate
DALSA Pirhana HS-TDI
2
50X greater responsivity than traditional linescan
3
Stage selection up to 48 stages
4 Bidirectionality
5 100x antiblooming
6 Selectable area mode or TDI mode
7 Camera Link interface

Camera configuration is extremely flexible and the number of Camera Link taps, throughput, and line rate are all software controllable.

For applications where maximum performance is needed in low-light conditions, a DALSA Piranha HS-TDI camera is a practical solution.
Other applications include:
DALSA cameras
* Flat panel display inspection
* Solar cell inspection
* PCB and electronics
* Postal sorting
* Web inspection
