The solution for your traffic and high-end surveillance/security needs
The BM-141GE and BB141GE: two new members of
the C3 Basic camera series These two low-noise, high-sensitivity CCD progressive-scan cameras can be used for a variety of machine vision applications but are particularly well-suited for outdoor deployment where light conditions are both wide-ranging and continuously changing. Having a 1.4 megapixel resolution, outstanding image quality and a high level of automated response, these new cameras provide a combination of high-performance features well beyond that available from typical small-format traffic and security cameras - both interlaced and progressive. What makes these JAI low-noise, high-sensitivity
cameras interesting? Through a combination of sophisticated circuit design and thermal management techniques, the BM-141GE and BB141GE deliver a signal-to-noise ratio of greater than 58 dB, producing high-quality images even in night time situations. Both cameras feature an advanced Automatic Exposure function that can simultaneously control gain, shutter and lens iris to maintain optimum exposure levels across a wide range of changing lighting conditions. Pre-set shutter speed of up to 1/10 000 second and programmable exposures as short as 63 µs are available for capturing fast-moving objects. A variety of trigger modes are provided including reset continuous triggering (RCT) enabling the camera to operate in continuous mode while waiting for a trigger signal. This allows triggering to be used without sacrificing the camera's auto iris capabilities. In "draft mode" it is possible to sub-sample the number of lines read out from the CCD chip. This functionality is especially useful in traffic and security applications where there is a period of "idle" time between events and nothing is happening. Having the camera operating in this "draft" mode results in using less bandwidth for data transmission thereby saving computer power.
The JAI GigE Vision Camera Software package provides all SDK components required for easily integrating the cameras into vision applications. The SDK also contains the JAI control tool and a highly-efficient filter driver. For what other applications are these cameras
appropriate?
