JAI's
LQ-200CL camera provides a time-saving, increased-efficiency,
industry-level solution
Left:
JAI's LQ-200CL with diagrammatic representation of prism technology. The
incoming light is split into 4 spectral bands (RGB + NIR) with perfect
pixel-to pixel alignment. The Red, Green, Blue and Near-Infrared pixels
see exactly the same point on the object at all times.

About the LQ-200CL
Currently the only industrial-grade 4-CCD line scan camera
on the market, the LQ-200CL features
a beam-splitter prism with hard dichroic coatings incorporating four precisely-aligned,
pixel-to-pixel CCD sensors. The incoming light is split into 4 spectral
bands (RGB + NIR) with each sensor seeing, simultaneously and
through the same optical path, exactly the same point on the
object at all times.
By adding an NIR sensor, the new camera makes it possible to identify
an even-wider set of defects on inspected objects as both surface
and under-surface can be inspected.
Each of the four sensors provides 2048 linear pixels (14 µm square)
and runs at a maximum scan rate of 19048 lines-per-second.
As with all other JAI line-scan cameras, the LQ-200CL has undergone extensive
shock and vibration testing to maximise its ability to withstand the rigors
of industrial environments. (See below)
The main advantage of prism technology
The camera's prism technology eliminates the complex alignment and encoding
issues associated with tri-linear line scan cameras, (especially those
related to off-axis viewing), variations in conveyor speed, surface undulations
or objects that roll or move as they pass through the camera's field-of-view.
Features of the LQ-200CL
camera |
** |
Built-in pre-processing functions such as flat-field
correction that can be set individually for all four channels |
** |
Image optimisation through the built-in gamma/gain correctionfunctio
nality. Each channel can be set individually |
** |
One-push automatic white balance |
** |
Electronic shuttering with individual controls for each channel |
** |
Noise-reduction circuit that improves signal-to-noise ratio by up
to 3 dB (situation-dependent) without losing spatial resolution |
** |
Pulse-width control model for substantially increased flexibility
as one of three shutter operating modes |
** |
Increased shutter sensitivity via the binning function that combines
the values of two adjacent pixels at the output stage |
** |
Set-up and installation aid with built-in test-pattern generator |
** |
Extensive shock and vibration testing including
50G shock testing and 3G vibration testing |
** |
Excellent temperature management through a ridged body that dissipates
heat and thereby optimises image quality |
How can I use the LQ-200CL? |
** |
Fruit and vegetable sorting. Inspecting colours, ripeness,
damages, early decay, foreign objects - stones, leaves |
** |
Food inspection - e.g. frozen food, rice grains, coffee beans, peas,
cereals, tea |
** |
Web inspection - wood, textile, paper, glass |
** |
Tiles inspection - inspection of colours variations and imperfections
in glaze |
** |
PCB inspection - inspection for imperfections in circuit layout
|
** |
3D print inspection - inspection of labels on cylindrical items
like cans, bottles, pens, or rotating objects |
** |
Surface inspection of flat panels/displays looking for scratches
and defective screen pixels |
** |
2D print inspection - magazines and currency. (Currency: simultaneous
inspection of colour-correctness, water marks and any security features
woven into the bank notes) |
