Aimed at maintaining its status as one of the most robust and versatile vendor-independent GigE Vision software packages, JAI has released version 1.3 of its popular and powerful GigE Vision SDK and Control Tool software.

The new version has been updated and improved in a considerable number of areas but perhaps the most significant addition is the software's support for the GigE Vision 1.1 and the GenICan 1.2 (SFNC*) standards.

The new software contains many new features and examples including mouse and cursor event-handling, plus a new “processing” tab that lets users interactively apply look-up tables, flip and rotate commands, and other image functions, to their live video window.

Consisting of three parts, the software includes:
* SDK components needed for easy integration of JAI GigE Vision cameras into vision applications
* Filter driver for fast and efficient streaming of GigE Vision packets
* The JAI control Tool for testing any GigE Vision and GenICAM-compliant cameras

* This standard allows any SFNC-compliant camera, regardless of interface type to be accessed and controlled using a common set of camera feature names.
