More features with new software version for iDS uEye USB and GigE cameras

uEye USB and GigE camera image capture made even easier with new driver

iDS has recently released their new camera driver version for Windows, Linux and OEM designs. iDS is a world leading manufacturer of USB and Gigabit Ethernet industrial cameras. Their range of cameras include resolutions from VGA to 10MP and include board level versions, enclosed industrial versions and ruggedised versions with IP67 environmental rating. Their new driver offers some new features and enhancements.

Enhancements
The new uEye software 3.90 features include:
** sequence mode for e2v sensors
** pulse width modulation (PWM)
** boot booster.

Sequence Mode
The e2v sensor found in the UI-X24X cameras features a sequence mode which allows it to capture high dynamic range image sequences by using multiple exposures or to capture different AOI's automatically. Parameter sets comprising AOI position, exposure time, and gain can be set individually for each image in the sequence. The sensor applies each parameter set automatically, allowing for faster and more accurate recordings.

Pulse width modulation
GigE uEye models now offer pulse width modulation (PWM) for the camera’s digital strobe output. This feature enables the camera to e.g. control the brightness of a light source connected to the strobe output. You can adjust frequency and duty cycle of the output signal and so turning the camera into a function generator. Experimenting is possible with both the sequence mode and pulse width modulation using uEye Cockpit, the comprehensive camera viewer included in the setup.

Boot booster
The new boot booster enables even faster access to GigE cameras and with this features, cameras boot automatically when the computer is turned on making them immediately available.

All features of the software development kit can be used with commmon programming languages like C/C++, C# or VB. The drivers are available for Windows and Linux, 32 and 64 bit and are identical for all camera models which makes porting between camera models, camera families or even operating systems very easy.
