Board-level camera designed for machine vision and robotics applications

iDS offers its uEye ME series USB industrial cameras featuring angled lens flange

iDS now offers its uEye ME series as a board-level solution for OEMs with an optional lens mount giving added flexibility for robotics and machine vision solutions.

The ME camera features a 90° angled lens flange making it suitable for use in robotics and a great variety of machine applications. Available with CCD and CMOS sensors, the ME series offers a range of resolutions from VGA to 5-Megapixels as well as a high dynamic range HDR sensor.

Benefits of an HDR sensor
The HDR sensor allows higher contrasts and a greater dynamic range (up to 120 dB). This is nearly 1,000 higher than the standard value of CCD sensors making the camera suitable for a wide range of applications with large differences in brightness, eg. robot-assisted welding.

Other features of the ME series cameras
** All uEye ME models support binning/sub-sampling and AOI processes.
** Frame rates of up to 100 frames/s with a resolution of 640 x 480 are achievable, depending on models.
** The USB port and digital inputs/outputs are designed for industrial environments, eg. standard USB but also lockable Mini-B-connectors are available to offer secure and firm connectivity.
** As well as the board-level variants, the camera is also available with a robust metal housing.
** Included are software packages for Windows and Linux (32 and 64 Bit versions); software development kit, demo programs and source codes in C++, C# and VB.
** To make use easier, the SDK is identical for all uEye® camera series, removing the need for reprogramming when changing camera models
** A variety of interfaces are also available, including ActiveX, DirectShow/WDM as well as various machine vision programs such as MVTec's Halcon.
