The best of two worlds: Genie NANO in synergy with the latest ON-Semi Python CMOS sensor

Go to Teledyne DALSA

Redefine performance; reduce costs with two great products in one

About the ON-Semi Python sensor
Cost and performance differentiators
Providing clean, raw data for machine vision applications, images produced by the Python family can be used as they are and without further complicated and expensive post-processing. This results in reduced systems costs because processing power can use used for other things instead of dealing with the sensor.

A range of resolutions and sizes provides flexibility and the means of targeting a specific application with the appropriate technology

Python sensor
Key features
Ease of integration

The sensor has an upload to SPI registers which can be connected to FPGA
Output is a standard LVDS output format
System complexity/costs can be reduced, proportionally, by mutiplexing a number of channels into one

Fully-programmable solution
Timing and the setting of the sensor can be optimised to get the best performance possible for a specific application

Windowing
Up to 32 independent windows-of-interest can be programmed at random locations on the image plane. These windows can overlap each other and have different shapes or aspect ratios - all providing extra flexibility

Global shutter
Having a global shutter means that all pixels stop and start their exposure at the same time so minimising distortion of moving objects

About the Genie NANO
Like the magic genie of folklore, the Genie NANO provides whatever the person who controls it asks. The recently-released cameras with 2- and 5-megapixel sensors continue the established synergy beween Python sensor and the Nano.

Combining the virtues of low-cost performance, leading CMOS sensors and Teledyne DALSA's Turbodrive technology, the Genie NANO family offers breakthrough speed, robust quality for the long term and reliability. An incomparable feature set includes the capabilities of high image quality at faster frame rates.

With resolutions from VGA to 12 megapixels, the Nano delivers high speed, low noise and global shutters and despite it small size, the Genie Nano brings to machine vision, a greater capability than any other camera in its class. The inclusion of Teledyne DALSA's proprietary TurboDrive technology allows the Genie Nano to provide frame rates, often at 150% faster, with no changes to a GigE network. No other camera currently on the market, can match this type of performance at the same cost as can the Nano.
