The Basler Pylon 6 Camera Software Suite (Version 6.1.0) now allows Basler cameras to be used for applications on mobile Android systems.

The Pylon software makes the Basler Ace, Ace2, Dart and Pulse cameras entirely compatible to Android systems, allowing developers to access mobile applications with these professional computer vision cameras.

Due to a market absence, developers have typically used common web cameras when operating on android systems. These however cannot withstand industrial requirements.

Compared to webcams, Basler cameras with Pylon for Android offer excellent image quality and stability as well as extensive camera control options. Basler customers can choose from a wide range of sensors. Furthermore, the lifetime of Basler cameras in the market far exceeds those of webcams and so reduces redevelopment of systems as webcams become obsolete.
