Alvium
G1: Proprietary ASIC and commercially available components
eliminate
the need
to wait months for delivery and ensures
quick time-to-market for your application
Allied
Vision have released the newest addition to the Alvium camera family:
the Alvium G1. The Alvium G1 has
been developed using Allied Vision's
proprietary ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) and other
commercially available components to ensure prompt delivery. The
Gigabit Ethernet camera family will include all of the sensors in
the broader Alvium platform
and add GigE as an alternative interface to USB. Alvium G1 cameras
feature many of the advantages of the Alvium USB and CSI-2
cameras including extended temperature range, small size and low
mass. They are built to accommodate the high standards of industrial
and scientific imaging. The Alvium series provides flexibility and
freedom
to machine vision and embedded
vision applications.

The
Alvium series delivers a number of incredible benefits:
Choices
Selection
of housing - board, open or closed housing (depending on model)
Various
lens mount options for easy optical integration
A
choice of sensors from 0.5 to 21 megapixels
Colour
or monochrome choice for all models
Software
integration: MIPI CSI-2 models - Video4Linux2, GStreamer, OpenCV,
or direct register access; USB and GigE models - Vimba with APIs
for C, C++, .NET and Python. Vimba runs on Windows, Linux, and Linux
for ARM
Resource
savings
Image
corrections and preprocessing tasks can be performed onboard the
camera reducing the workload on the host processor
Designer
can choose to down-size the host and so reduce overall system cost
User
development time is also reduced by providing conditions where hardware
and software are easily integrated
Power
savings
The
camera ensures just enough power for the application's selected
features is received with unused features being shut off. Entry-level
models draw less power
Compact
and robust
Ultra-compact,
single board design with all electronic components fitted on both
sides of one 27 x 27 mm board. Small and light but also shock and
vibration resistant
The
Alvium series is designed for a variety of imaging applications:
Robotics
Entry-level
models: for ultra-compact and low weight cameras with good image
quality
Any
compact system
Regions
Of Interest feature for applications requiring only specific regions
of an image to be read, eg bar code
Medical
applications
Entry-level
models: Any medical application needing an ultra-compact size and
outstanding image quality, eg pathology
Traffic
surveillance
Advanced
models: licence-plate recognition where outstanding image quality
and multiple regions of interest are required
Microscopy
Advanced
models closed housing option: For quality images with extremely
low noise
Aerial
mapping
Advanced
models: High-resolutions provide outstanding image quality for aerial
mapping, and a sequencing feature for images with different conditions
