Introducing the Linea HS 16k Backside Illuminated (BSI) Time Delay Integration (TDI) camera. Offering a Camera-Link HS (CLHS) interface this camera is perfect for Near Ultra-Violet (NUV) applications and visible applications like packaging inspection, photoluminescence and life science imaging.

The Linea HS 16k BSI is leveraged with Teledyne Dalsa's charge-domain CMOS TDI 16k sensor that features, a 5x5 µm pixel size with a maximum aggregate line rate of 400 kHz. BSI is a newly rolled out sensor design concept for high speed, high sensitivity imaging that allows light to be captured via the back of the photodiodes. In contrast, the development process of traditional Frontside Illuminated sensors see wiring and circuitry located on the layer above the photodiode and so light-flow is partially blocked. Consequently the BSI model significantly improves quantum efficiency in the NUV and visible wavelengths as well as improve the signal-to-noise ratio for applications set in low-light conditions.

The broader Linea HS family is the industry-leading TDI camera series for high speed and high sensitivity applications. The cameras are based on multi-array charge-domain CMOS TDI technology, and provide users with capabilities like mono/HDR, colour, multifield, and super resolution imaging for demanding machine vision applications. Linea HS 16k BSI also has the same form factor as the existing Linea HS series, so existing systems are easy to upgrade.

The Linea 16k BSI camera comes equipped with a fibre CLHS interface, delivering up to 6.5 Gigapixels per second over a single active optical cable.
