Double the throughput with the NEW FX10+
|
Specim's
FX10+ Hyperspectral PUSHBROOM camera offers a high-speed solution
to applications where rapid data collection is required. It is
an industrial grade hyperspectral camera designed with small size,
low cost and high speed for OEM applications where high throughput
inspection for sorting is paramount.
As its name suggests, the FX10+ is a variant of Specim's hugely
successful FX10. The FX10+ is not designed as an upgrade that
surpasses the FX10, instead it is designed to accompany the FX10
as an alternative product. It is aimed at applications where speed
is important and a lower spectral resolution is all that is required
for successful classification. Many applications do not require
the narrow, high resolution bands offered with the FX10, and instead
benefit greatly from higher speed and throughout. The FX10+ still
covers the full VNIR spectrum from 400 - 1000nm, but it does so
with fewer and broader bands. This enables it to operate at higher
frame rates.
A key feature of the FX cameras for OEM's is the AIE mode which
when enabled ensures every camera works exactly as every other
camera. It allows OEM machine builders to deploy the same spectral
classification model across multiple machines without having to
modify the model. Tweaking a model for every machine because of
the variations from camera to camera would be too unwieldy for
volume manufacturers. AIE solves that problem.
Another feature for OEM's is the in-built shutter that allows
for automatic and regular dark image corrections which are so
important for stable long term and repeatable results when using
hyperspectral cameras.

Food
quality/sorting
|
The
FX10+ is a great option for sorting food products as it gives
reliable information in a rapid, non-destructive and hygienic
way, requiring no sample preparation. One-third of the world's
food is wasted which highlights a need for sorting systems to
make accurate decisions on the quality of produce under great
time constraints.
The Specim FX10+ is ideal for analysing large volumes of
food products rapidly and in real-time. The FX10+ collects chemical
information and simultaneously detects the different quality parameters
with a single scan to maximise the production line's processing
efficiency.

The FX10+ can detect foreign objects e.g. bone, cartilage, plastics,
wood, rubber, metal, or parasites
The FX10+ can measure chemical composition e.g. chemical
composition, fat contents, water content, tenderness

|
Dried
food, nuts, and cereals
|
Detect discolouration or mould
Identify and remove foreign objects like shell pieces, wood,
stones, and insects
Identify and sort different nut types such as almonds, cashew,
walnuts, pistachio, peanuts
|
|
Fruits,
berries, and vegetables
|
Detect blemishes and bruising under the skin
Measure ripeness and chemical composition
Foreign objects like wood, metal or insects
Optimize shelf life, reduce waste, and improve profits

Agriculture/Vegetation
|
The
Specim FX10+ hyperspectral camera is proficient in the world of
crop health assessment where it can be used for the optimization
of crop yields and plant phenotyping. It can be deployed on vehicle
in field or in growing rooms as required.
