Ensenso B Family: Robust, reliable and exceptional 3D performance

Ensenso B has been designed to generate outstanding 3D images at short object distances. Compact and robust, Ensenso B is perfect when precision is required and space is at a premium, e.g., bin picking applications with the camera mounted on a robot arm.

Ensenso B is a 3D stereo vision camera system with a bright pattern projector to enhance its capability for objects that have little textuire or features for stereo algorithms to use. The random dots generated by the projector provide these stereo features. The Ensenso B-Series offers two 5-megapixel stereo RGB sensors to deliver sharp images over short distances. Ensenso B also offers an additional fully integrated diffuse white LED to support the capture of 2D colour images.

Applications
iDS Ensenso B 3D Camera can be used for a variety of close-range 3D applications:

Robot Vision
Ensenso B can be used for Robotic applications in factory automation and logistics. Examples of this include de-palletising, conveyor belt loading, bin picking, worker assistance systems, weld seam or adhesive bead inspection and many more.

Medical Equipment
Ensenso 3D has a diverse range of medical applications including patient positioning during magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computer tomography (CT) examinations or radiotherapy. 3D image processing also helps in orthopaedic applications and services, e.g. for measuring feet to produce custom-fit insoles and splints.

Object Detection
Ensenso 3D cameras allow easy identification, classification, and counting of objects. This is further optimized by additional colour information. Ensenso B performs very well when sorting for defective parts based on detected size deviations. This technology is very helpful in quality control applications.

Features:

Short Distances
Ensenso B provides fully integrated optics with a short focal length to deliver end-users two 5 MP stereo pair images from an object distance starting at 21 cm and viewing a large field of view (30 x 26cm) at that distance. Although designed for close-up work normally associated with mounting to robotic grippers, the Ensenso B can still work at up to 2 metres working distance and produces depth values with an accuracy of approximately 0.1 millimetres.

High Depth of Field
Ensenso B offers a high depth of field to ensure objects within the working area always remain in focus and in perfect clarity, even at variable distances.

Robust, compact, reliable
Enclosed in a compact and robust housing (120 x 56 x 104mm), Ensenso B is protected from the environment with an IP65 and IP67 IP rating.
