CAVILUX Smart

CAVILUX Smart is a versatile and powerful pulsed diode laser light source designed especially for scientific and industrial R&D and consists of a laser unit (size app. 0.3 dm3), control unit, laptop computer, software and illumination optics. Note: one control unit can drive 1 - 4 laser units and synchronise 1 - 4 cameras.

Features
CAVILUX Smart can generate arbitrary pulses or bursts of pulses with adjustable durations for each pulse and each delay between pulses. The duration of each pulse can be adjusted from 30 ns to 10 µs. The maximum duty cycle (0.1 %) of CAVILUX Smart enables, for example, the generation of 1 µs pulses at 1 kHz.

All features are controlled with CAVILUX Control software.

Additional features
** Light output - ability to generate pulsed light power of hundreds of watts in a typical configuration
** Available in standard wavelength of 690nm or of 810nm
** Visible 690 nm red light makes alignment easier and provides good sensitivity with semiconductor cameras.
** Even higher power and brightness can be achieved by using 810 nm light.
** Despite the wavelength, light output is always monochromatic and incoherent producing no chromatic aberrations or speckle

Applications
Possible applications include welding, paper webs, flows as well as material testing and the study of impacts and explosions.
