Ready. Aim. Fire...... And then
capture with the Phantom
Seeing events that are usually too fast for the eye to see, is
always compelling and most people watch slow motion capture of
an event more than once.
Few events are as captivating as the footage showing, in sharp
detail, a bullet being fired and the action captured at an amazing
73 000 frames-per-second.
Hosts of Discovery Channel's "Mythbuster" series chose
"the perfect speed" to record a bullet being fired from
a pistol at approximately 370 metres-per-second.
And the results were mesmerising!
At 73,000 frames-per-second, the hosts were able to capture with
striking detail, the rotation of the projectile and more importantly,
the astonishing visuals associated with the expanding gasses as
a result of the ignition taking place inside the cartridge.
The footage was captured by a VRI Phantom v2010 and, in the words
of the host: “…we utilized the spit out of
it to get some gorgeous high speeds!”
